Overview
High-Performance Carrier Films for Siliconization
In siliconization, the carrier film plays a critical role in achieving a smooth, consistent and reliable process.
Anika Global offers high-performance PE and PP carrier films for siliconization, manufactured using blown extrusion and formulated specifically for the demands of siliconizing processes. Their elasticity and process stability help support smooth operation across a wide range of systems, including both oxidative thermal drying and UV drying processes.
Our solutions can be tailored around your process technology, application and printing requirements, helping you achieve the right property profile for your release-liner application. Dual-side siliconization is also available for applications requiring release on both sides.
LDPE Siliconizing Films

Flexibility When Your Process Demands It.
Suited to applications requiring a high degree of elasticity, including processes exposed to significant temperature fluctuations. One example highlighted by Polifilm is their use in bitumen roofing membrane applications.
- High elasticity for temperature-fluctuating processes
- Suited to bitumen roofing membrane applications
HDPE Siliconizing Films

Stability for Demanding Applications.
Designed for applications where dimensional stability, stiffness and process stability are important, including selected hygiene-product applications.
- Dimensional stability and stiffness
- Suited to selected hygiene-product release liners
PP Siliconizing Films

Clarity Meets Process Performance.
Offers a balance between the properties of LDPE and HDPE, with high transparency and suitability for homogeneous surfaces such as tapes and plasters.
- Balance of flexibility and stiffness
- High transparency
- Suited to tapes and medical plasters

How It Works
From Requirement to the Right Film — In Four Simple Steps
Tell Us Your Requirement
A straightforward process to help converters, packaging manufacturers and businesses identify the right film solution for their application and production needs.
We Match the Right Solution
We identify the film type and properties suited to your application. Our range covers PE and PP solutions across flexible packaging, labels and siliconizing applications, with options based on performance and process requirements.
Evaluate & Validate
Review the selected solution for your application before moving ahead. Samples can be requested for technical evaluation and application testing, helping you assess suitability within your converting process.
Order & Ongoing Support
Move from evaluation to supply with a single point of contact. Once the suitable solution is selected, Anika Global supports the sourcing process and ongoing requirements.
Common questions
Siliconization is the process of coating a film with a thin silicone layer to create a controlled, consistent release surface — used in release liners, labels and tapes. The carrier film underneath affects runnability, coating consistency and final release performance, so film selection is part of process quality, not just a packaging choice.
LDPE suits processes needing high elasticity and exposure to temperature fluctuation (e.g. bitumen roofing membranes). HDPE suits applications needing dimensional stability and stiffness (e.g. selected hygiene products). PP balances both with added transparency, suiting tapes and plasters.
Dual-side siliconization applies a release coating to both faces of the film, used in constructions requiring release on both sides rather than a single liner face.
What Our Clients Say
Trusted on site, not just in a brochure
Rated 5 out of 5
The deck has been through two monsoons and still looks like the week it was laid. What sold us was that they asked about the sub-frame and the drainage before they quoted — the other three suppliers only wanted to talk about the timber.
Rated 5 out of 5
They talked us out of the more expensive board because it was wrong for a west-facing terrace. That one conversation is the reason we went back to them for the flooring a year later.
Rated 4 out of 5
Four pergola options in 3D, an itemised quote, and a handover pack that actually had the certificates and maintenance schedule our client needed for the building file. That last part is rarer than it should be.
Rated 5 out of 5
Samples came the same week, the container landed within the window they gave us, and nothing had to be re-cut on site. On a programme with forty other trades, that is worth more than a discount.

We specified their engineered oak across eleven apartments. Same batch, same tone, no colour drift between deliveries — which is the whole problem with buying flooring from three different importers.

Ten thousand square feet of decking over two phases, with the campus running throughout. They worked nights near the residential blocks without being asked to.

The protection film goes on at the press and comes off clean six weeks later — no residue, no ghosting, no argument with the client about who scratched what. We switched our whole line over.
Rated 5 out of 5
We needed a label film that would survive the cold chain and still take four-colour print. They sent both PE and PP grades to trial rather than telling us which one to buy.

Eleven hundred square metres of ventilated rainscreen with a commercial fire specification behind it. They sat with our fire consultant before a single elevation was drawn, which is why the approval went through first time.
Rated 4 out of 5
The gazebo went up in four days on a site with no vehicle access past the gate. Everything was prefabricated to the right lengths — nothing was cut on the lawn.

Our terrace turns over three hundred covers on a weekend and the boards have not cupped or splintered in three years. We have since done the second and third outlets with them.

Tender documentation, test certificates and origin papers came complete on the first submission. Anyone who has run a government purchase knows what that saves.
