Flexible Packaging Films
Modern flexible packaging has to do more than protect a product — it has to preserve shelf life, run cleanly through high-speed converting lines, print cleanly at four or six colours, and increasingly meet recyclability targets without sacrificing barrier performance. Anika Global supplies PE and PP film solutions across four categories, sourced through Polifilm’s Performance Films range, for converters and packaging manufacturers building pouches, FFS packaging, lidding and laminate structures in India.

04 —PP Lidding Film — Built for the Food Industry
Available peelable or non-peelable, this PP lidding film with EVOH barrier is built for food-industry processors, including those in the meat and cheese industry. Its barrier properties support durability and shelf life, with additional UV protection to combat ageing effects in packaged goods. Available in different stiffness grades, it stands out for smooth processing, a low sealing initiation temperature (SIT) and a wide sealing window, and comes in various opacities while supporting recyclability optimisation.

Common questions
MDO (mono-axially oriented) PE film is used as a high-stiffness, high-performance film that can replace conventional PET, OPP or OPA print carriers in mono-material laminate structures, supporting more recyclable packaging formats without giving up mechanical performance.
Barrier films — typically incorporating an EVOH layer — are engineered to block oxygen, other gases and water vapour, extending shelf life. Standard PE/PP films without this layer don't offer the same level of gas and moisture resistance.
Lidding film is used to seal rigid or semi-rigid trays — common in meat, cheese and ready-meal packaging — in peelable or non-peelable formats, often incorporating a barrier layer to protect shelf life.
